Game 1 - Habs @ Leafs - Thursday Oct 6th 2011 - 19:00 EST - 2-0 Win

I don't know why, but everytime I hear a guy is a skill player (Frattin in this case) and then I see him for the first time and realize the player is a righty, I get disappointed.

Looking for postives:  at least Liles and Grabbo look good.

More negatives why is Liles the D-man the only one going to the net while Grabbo works the boards?

How many times are we going to ice it?

To be fair, most of those were missed passes and not panic ices. I've given up on figuring out what is waved off and what isn't.

Essentially none of them are waived off.  It's one of the stupidest non-enforcements of the rules.  It slows the game down so much.

I get the sense I'm going to see Matthew Lombardi a lot in the defensive zone and think "Oh good, Kabs will get the puck out...oh" and then go back to being bummed.

I'm with you on that one. it's not that I won't like Lombardi, it's just that he's not, well... ya.  :-\

A nervous start, the Grabo line has been by far the best and that's not saying much. Plenty of time to settle down though.

The first Leafs game of the year is a little bit like the one Big Mac I eat every other year. You build it up in your head until the inevitable "Oh, right".

CBC's 'talent' isn't helping.

New and improved Leafs.  Nothing is more truculent than a team that gets pushed around by the Habs.

Leafs have looked terrible in their own end so far - and after that last comedy of errors, the Habs have a PP.
