Total garbage goal, outplayed the entire game, dirty ass attempt to injure that should have seen the guy tossed from the game.  This game has been a total disgrace from the officiating.

This comment cracks me up, coming from a Leaf fan.  Too young to have watched the Leafs/Sens playoff series'?

Not sure what the Leaf team from 7-10 years ago has to do with the game on the ice tonight.

Because that's exactly how the Leafs won in the playoffs, and yet he asks how Sens fans can defend their team.  All that matters is the scoreboard, doesn't matter how you get there.

Yep, Spezza's goal should have been goaltender interference.  The ref missed it.  That sucks, but it'll happen again before the season's over, and you'll get your fair share of unfair calls in your favour as well.

Regarding Foligno, I think it played out as it should have.  He made a borderline hit and got a penalty for it (despite the fact that, by the rulebook, that wasn't clipping).  He backed it up by getting punched in the face a few times, and you guys are probably proud of Phaneuf for taking care of it himself.  What exactly is the problem here?

I didn't whine when Mark Bell put a borderline hit on Alfredsson.

Well the original comment had nothing to do with defending your team, but ok.

The Sens lost in the playoffs in the 2000's because you had terrible goaltending. That was the #1 reason. There weren't many games that were decided because of a bad call/missed goalie interference.

There was a game which was won when the refs didn't call a hit from behind on Tucker, and Alfie potted the winner.

But of course you're old enough to remember all of that.

We have the puck and Connolly decides he doesn't want to play anymore on this shift.

To be fair, you can't extend your shift expecting the other team to give the puck away so cleanly like Gonchar did there.

Yeah, but when they got possession, he just stood there and looked at the guy. He made no effort at all to pressure.

His shift was over. He did the right thing and left one forechecker in and went to the bench.

Yep.

I also remember a ton of garbage goals against.
And I remember outplaying the Leafs the majority of the time despite losing.
And I remember the refs letting Corson, Tucker, Domi, Roberts, et al get away with murder.

Connolly's been half-assing it for a number of games now.  The only reason he's on the team is for his offense.  He needs to step up and do something.

To me, he quit on the play. You call it what you want.

I see Phaneuf has gone back to 'I don't need to hit the net as long as I shoot it really hard' mode.

Way too many weak shots this period with noone in front of the net and from way out.

Again, what's a Sens fan doing on a Leafs centric board?

I hope a mess like this doesn't make Burke do something stupid - unless
he can get a goalie cheap.

Reimer should never been in the net to begin with.  Gus has won the starting job IMHO and had 2 days to rest up for tonight.  Poor goalie management once again.

Hmmm, lose tonight and I don't think we make the playoffs. Too long a losing streak at this time of year

It pretty clearly deflected off someone.

Not referring to that one shot in particular.  Just the last 3-4 it seems like he's trying to put everything on his shot rather than getting it into places for deflections.

But, there was no play to quit on. That's my issue here. You're criticizing a player for doing exactly what he was supposed to do in that situation. Both teams were changing. What's Connolly supposed to do? Stay on and risk the sens getting an odd man rush because all of their players are behind him in the hope that Gonchar passes the puck to Lombardi?

So what's the solution? Don't play Reimer the rest of the season?  He should have played one of the 2 back to back games in my opinion.

3 goals on 17 for Reimer.

As expected, down by a goal after dominating *sigh*

Yeah garbage by Reimer considering what the guy on the other end is doing.

And I am getting sick of his 15 second freeze pose after a goal.

Ya really. No one to blame but himself. Don't understand why these goalies do this. I can understand taking away the bottom of the net in close but Reimer and Gus go down a lot when they don't need to. Maybe that's Allaire's teaching. That's it go down early and get beat upstairs.

Yep.  Keeping the merry-go-round going for no good reason is, well, stupid.  Wilson works in mysterious ways.
