This is one of those games where I can't help but predict the Leafs lose 2-0, 1 powerplay goal, 1 empty netter.

You think that highly of Gus?  That poorly of our offense?  Or hold the Rangers in that high regard?

It Lundqvist is on, we're in for a long night.

The Rangers have the best goals against average in the conference.  They have the worst goals for average in the conference.  That means a low scoring game.

5 of the Leafs 8 games, and all of their wins, have come against Montreal (2), Calgary, Winnipeg and Ottawa, who are all in the bottom 9 teams in the league.

I think the game will be close ... I have no crystal ball though ...

Low scoring haha. I''ll say it won't be. Why cuz we don't know how to play those games. Good to see Bozak and Connolly in. Don't expect a lot from Tim but hoping both find the scoresheet somehow.

At the home opener in one of the most storied arenas that has just undergone a refurbishing.

Right, because these Rangers players care about the history of the building.  Its another game.

Right, because they play their games in a bubble and have no recognition of where they are playing, the crowd, none of that.  No impact.

Phoenix, MSG, they're basically the same.

I'm not sure what game you were watching but Goose was not the problem in Philly but I guess the obvious retort would be, but you would like to experiment with a complete rookie who has travelled and played last night?

Sure, he is a young goalie, playing last night and traveling shouldnt hinder his ability to stop a puck.  And it seems curious to ask what game I was watching, have you not watched Gus for the past 2 years?  He had one stellar stretch, otherwise he has been nothing pedestrian, or worse.

There's quite a bit more to it than that. I'll just count you in the Bustavsson slice and move along.

Thats fair...I am anti Gus, so I won't argue.  Heres to hoping he will prove me wrong.

And Potvin, do you honestly believe the ambiance of the arena gives the rangers an advantage tonight?  Everyone knows what MSG means, and the Rangers have been rather average at MSG the last two years.

And as I type Gus gives up an extremely week goal.
