Leafs acquire Scott Laughton

I dunno if Grebenkin is definitely gonna be a player, but I really wanted to find that out here. I guess it came down to Minten or a 1st+Grebenkin. We'll see if that decision pans out. 50% retention plus getting a couple picks even if they're late isn't nothing too.

So that probably means one of Cowen or Minten (or Danford) is going to be moved for the defensive help they need. Should be interesting to see what that turns out to be.

The picks, another year on his deal and retention help. Still overpayment. But it is a seller's market

I'm keeping Minten, Cowan over Grebs all day everyday. The Leafs filled a needed role here and that's a big deal. Domi can't be our 3C.

Well it's Grebenkin and a 1st over them. I wonder what the plan for Minten going forward is though. His likely line-up spot (3C) is now blocked this season and next. Possibly beyond that too if Laughton re-signs here after next season which feels somewhat likely considering he's from here.

In his brief showing with the Leafs Grebenkin looked like a guy you could pencil in for a bottom 6 role in the years ahead.
