Some awesome in-depth analysis from a person using the phrase "power kill".
A part of me wonders what McMann-Laughton-Jarnkrok could do in a more heavy match-ups role. Have Domi/Robertson playing on L2 not needing to worry about defence. A real 3C finally gives Berube a number of options to play around with.
That's not an unheard of term for a PK that plays more aggressively.
Furthermore last season Philly led the league in shorthanded goals. "Power kill" was a common term their fan base used.

which is the style of play I want the Leafs to adopt at 5v5 as well. Aggressively closing off puck carriers and using rush offense as a form of defense.

You know, I was prepared to hate this deal but after seeing the absolutely bonkers prices this deadline, dare I say I actually kind of like this deal? 50% retention, 2027 1st, top 10 protected, a 4th and 6th coming back for a legitimate 3rd line, penalty killing Centre with another year on his contract, and we keep Minten, Robertson and Cowan to boot....Not bad, and compared to most of the other deals, I'd actually say pretty good!

I like the potential of that combo as a solid pseudo-shutdown line; all good skaters, competent defensively, fairly physical.
I'm also wondering about Domi-Laughton-Jarnkrok, mainly for the Domi/Jarnkrok pairing. Although Domi wouldn't be the centre, and has been a bit of a mess all around this season, he still has above average passing ability. Jarnkrok has maybe the 2nd best shot (or at least release) on the team, it could be an interesting option for more depth scoring, without needing to elevate Domi to a top 6 role and giving him defensively responsible linemates.

Don't look at as 1-2-3, how about just having 3 good lines? Tired of placing players on lines in descending order of skill.

As a good PKer, I suspect Laughton's 5v5 defensive results will improve not playing on a tire fire.
Reasonable deal, they'll expect to replace Grebenkin with the 4th/6th and a 1st for 2 playoff runs with Laughton at 1.5per is nice

I think regardless of how you decide to balance out the lines I don't see Holmberg sticking in the top-9 come playoff time. Once Jarnkrok gets more up to speed he'd be playing over him.

I think both Lorentz and Jarnkrok are in the line up before Holmberg when playoffs happen.
He's kind of the ultimate 13th forward. You can plug and play him anywhere when injuries hit and he's fine for a little while. But yeah fully healthy he's probably not in the line-up at all.
