Bozak's Future

I think Nonis is kicking the tires on a few free agent centres like Weiss, but will ultimately keep Bozak. If they can also get Clarkson on a reasonable deal, then the shopping may be over. I'd really like another top 4 D-man with some experience that can help alleviate some of Dion's minutes, but Ference might break the bank. Maybe Ranger makes the jump?

Unlikely Paul Ranger decides to return to the NHL before tomorrow, but he hasn't rule out returning. So many teams will be interested...

After all the talk of how Nonis was among the most eager GMs to add to his team, I'd be dissappointed if we come back with the same group of centres + Bolland.

The Burke era should have taught us that no matter how much you talk about adding players and making moves, you have to have willing trading partners or nothing happens.  At least Nonis isn't so vocal about making changes, it was mostly reporters who were saying he was going to be among "the most active GMs".

Nothing new here but it appears few players have the cujones to play in a market like Toronto. I've been reading too many times that "x" player wants
a "quieter" lifestyle (Vinnie - no Canada, Horton). I just read that about Scuderi ("a less hectic environment"). In LA???

We can usually keep our own UFA's or RFA's but we're turning into Edmonton East.

???  On my comment? I'm only looking at recent history (last 5 - 10 years)
or really since the Cap started. Since we can't out-bid other teams due to the Cap, if the player is going to get $6 mil a year from "everyone" they inevitably are choosing non-Canadian teams. Since Toronto is the only Canadian team to care about  ;) .......

Toronto still in mix but Dal, StL, Cal, Ana and Det among teams that kicked tires on Bozak.. My sense is he'd do 5-yr deal or more

Didn't he say last year there were alot of teams in the mix for luongo?  In hindsight that claim was exaggerated.

With Grabbo being bought out it seems Nonis will have to get another center.  Not sure if this means they try harder with bozak or elsewhere. but the pressure is on.

You don't think he has something in the bag already? It would be kind of dumb to buyout Grabbo and not have a plan to get another center, no? I think Nonis deserves more credit than that.

Rumour that Bozak will sign with Calgary tomorrow?? Anyone hear this on Fan590?

There is no limit to the amount of joy that would bring me. It'd be a little like the Sedins in Vancouver where he and Stajan could switch jerseys during intermissions and nobody would notice. Or care.

That's a bit harsh, Nik.  I didn't expect that from you.

Yes, and that's a terrible thing to say about someone.

The only bright side I can see in Grabbo?s departure is potentially more icetime for Colborne, especially if - hopefully - Bozak is gone too

Dreger - Told no progress on Bozak extension talks with Leafs. Negotiation is ongoing. Sense is Nonis will not do $5 x 5yrs. Will someone else? #TSN
