On the first powerplay he turned the puck over twice with two horrible passes, then on the last powerplay he passed the puck to a player going to the bench, causing another turnover.  He hasn't been good.

First period of the first game of the season after an extended layoff. I'm going to attribute that to rust more than anything else.

Yeah nobody really looked good on that first powerplay. You can hardly define a player by it.

One period I know but defensively the Leafs have looked very good, great man to man coverage.  Remember this isn't easy to do going into the Molson Centre opening night.

I suppose that is the optimistic way to look at it.  This is just a continuation of his career, a marginal player who some how becomes a 1st line center..for multiple seasons...with not much production.

Just because he's not a #1 C doesn't make him bad/a 4th liner.

Well, what if Bozak had made good passes?  I know I am nit-picking here, but both times they looked to have it set up Bozak made bad passed.  And then the next time Kessel was out on the PP he was out with Kadri and Bozak wasn't out there.  So Carlye saw the same thing.

47 points isn't even that bad. Especially when your wingers are in the 70-80 point range.

Komarov leads the Leafs in hits with 3 despite playing only 3:33 minutes. Exactelly as advertised.

There was one clip where you could see him chirping Galchenyuk as they were changing.

He was also right in front of the net on Kadri's goal.

4th on the team in points and, surprisingly, 3rd on the team in hits by a forward. Seems like decent production to me. Surely, playing with Kessel and Lupul helped, but nonetheless he produced.

You're missing a few zeros there, Don.

I was only half listening, but did he say the owners won the lockout 8-2?

He said a lot of things - most of them incoherent, many of them inaccurate. I was referring more to him saying the owners lost $1 million in revenue and the players lost $800K in salaries.

He'll never be a PPG guy, but he does a lot of the tougher board work/little things on that line, and he plays some PK.  He's certainly a useful player.

He's the only player on that line with any real defensive awareness.
