Grabovski Bought Out

I wonder if he has any tact.  Might of worn out his welcome with more then just the coach.  Didn't hear too many teammates come to his defense.

What are they supposed to say? "yes, our coach is an idiot. Please, Randy, cut my ice time too."

I doubt anyone of them have been asked about him publicly. But it would be nice to hear "he was great teammate and we wish him the best"...something along those lines.

Of course it's entirely possible that any well wishes they had for him would be the kind of thing they'd just say to him rather than say it to us.

Nik's right. Public displays -- or their absence -- don't mean much either way.

But, sure, maybe they didn't like him much either. Either Mirtle of Siegel, someone who's been in the room and covers the players pretty well, observed that among the ways Grabovski didn't "fit" with the team was culturally and personality wise. He wasn't suggesting he was "a bad teammate" so much as a quirky personality, older, with children & a domestic life, with different priorities (similarly, we sometimes hear Reimer's religion makes him something of an outsider).

"Grabovski's agent Gary Greenstin 'He's not going back to the #KHL. He wants to return to the ACC and score a goal against the #Leafs'.?

Haha this is great.  What a goofy thing to say.

No KHL for Grabbo so far...

Dmitry Chesnokov @dchesnokov
Mikhail Grabovski says he is not even considering the KHL, only the NHL. Had only 1 offer from KHL because clubs know he wants to be in NA.

Igor Eronko @IgorEronko
#Atlant GM: 'We made an offer to Grabovski, but he wants to stay in #NHL, so we won't see him in our team'.

All of this can only mean one thing.  Bozak is going to end up with a career ending concussion in the first week of the season.

Grabbo would be a great fit in Nashville, where they're currently playing David Legwand and Craig Smith down the middle in their top-6. Maybe Dave Poile can actually do something to improve his 2nd-last place hockey team this off-season instead of just signing 3rd and 4th liners.

Or have a career season in points!

Some team is going to get a great bargain and I'll be jealous.

Yup. I know things look bleak for him and it's easy to mock his value around the league, but I'm fairly confident that he'll finish top-5 in points among forwards who signed July 5th or after. And he could even end up with the highest points/cap hit ratio too.

Isn't it better to finish last overall?  Leaf fans might not tolerate it, but I doubt Nashville would even realize it.  Then when they get a superstar stud, the fans will jump on the bandwagon.

They'd be hard-pressed to fit Grabovski in with the rest of the centers they already have.

Winnipeg I could see maybe being interested.
