Leafs Minor Free Agents (Agostino, Shore, Gravel, others)

Lots of very good depth options here. Kalle Kossila has had pretty good scoring numbers in the AHL the past few years. He's probably pencilled in as the teams 1C there.

I updated the OP on the general season discussion thread.
Some of the long reported but never officially confirmed ones have come through (Agostino, Shore, Gravel, Wilson). Looks like these were just waiting on the Clarkson trade flexibility.

Yeah 11 goals in 37 games or a 24 goal pace, wonder why it didn't work out?  His Minny stats don't look impressive at all but then again Minny has never been a historically free wheeling high scoring team

Leafs have 2 more contracts to go. One for Mitch and one for???? Going to swing for the fences on this one....Neuvirth

The Leafs have the following players who can play centre now:

Matthews
Tavares
Kerfoot
Nylander
Spezza
Shore
Kossila

If I have to watch Frederik Gauthier play hockey ever again I'm going to lose it.

Here's roughly what our depth chart looks like just using players with NHL experience (and Mikheyev):

LW         C         RW
Hyman Tavares Marner
Johnsson Matthews Nylander
Mikheyev Kerfoot Kapanen
Moore Spezza Aberg
Agostino Shore
Petan Kossila
Wilson Gauthier
Gaudet

LD         RD
Rielly Barrie
Muzzin Ceci
Dermott Holl
Borgman
Marincin
Gravel
Harpur

I think Dubas got Babcock's message about the team needing more depth.

I like Tavares a lot, but I like Matthews more....  ;)

He's the one that wanted Zaitsev and Marleau though.
Dubas spun that cap space into, like, 10 players (including Ceci).

I'm looking forward to at least five more years of "Everything good the Leafs do is Dubas, everything bad is someone other than Dubas". I'm pretty sure in about six months we'll be hearing about how Mark Hunter was responsible for our last two drafts.

I mean if they win a Cup anytime in the next 5 years I'll be shining up the Dubas statue myself (the one that will be inside my house not the one in downtown Toronto)

Crap, well at least I spelt Mikheyev's name right twice!

I think you were onto something and a good cap savings move.  We only need 1 top line center but he has to play 42 minutes a game centering the top 2 lines.

What's to stop teams from commissioning IVF babies/clones genetically designed for their sports? Yao Ming is already an early attempt.

Aberg does seem pretty intriguing to me.

I don't see where he fits into the line-up when we're healthy, but he's probably a perfect filler guy to step into the 3RW spot when any of Marner/Nylander/Kapanen are out of the line-up (and of course that might be the case to star the season).
