Jake Gardiner's NCAA dman partner might be available:

Some feel he's better than Jake - good oofensive dman. With the Anaheim connection, I could see Burke interested trying to cut the process off before he becomes a UFA if he doesn't want to sign with Anaheim or going after him if he elects UFA status. He's another dman Burke drafted.
A number feel he's NHL ready now though he'd probably go through a season like Jake has - with some rough patches. But it is a way for Burke to accelerate the retooling/rebuild without a complete mortgage for a older player because he's closer to being NHL ready.
The problem with this deal, if Burke trades, is that he'd be breaking in another inexperienced dman next season when he's under pressure to make the playoffs. without the goaltending resolved, that could make next season a real challenge for Burke to survive.
If we're trading a pick in the 6-12 range, I might consider a goalie. No. Not another Raycroft situation but a goalie who might finally be our guy for several years. - Hopefully.
