I do love Parks though. The characters are great.

I agree. Best comedy on television right now bar none in my book. I think it's a little subtle for some folks but I think it's very smart as well as genuinely sweet at times.

"The raccoon problem is under control. They have their part of the town and we have ours."

or

"Strippers do nothing for me. But I will never turn down a breakfast buffet."

Well, looks like Community is more or less done. It's been put on hiatus and will be replaced by 30 rock at midseason. It's a shame as I thought it was a show that was pretty great at times but, I think, came to be bogged down by one-note characters i had little time for.

I thought it was an excellent show, but probably limited in how far it could go. The writing was pretty well done and I liked a lot of the referential humour.

What the heck is with the Big Bang hate?

I'm not a regular watcher of it but in the few episodes I've seen they seem to kind of veer between genuinely smart comedy and just the absolute laziest stereotyping and cliches.

And find a way to make simple, unfunny jokes, into pseudo-scientific jargon and therefore make it funny.

I nearly facepalmed when they Sheldon pulled out an "Im rubber, you're glue" comeback in nerdspeak. Just awful.

Throw me in with the group that can't stand Big Bang Theory.  I've tried watching it, and it seems like the most cliche, obvious, lame jokes imaginable.

But, hey, everyone has their own tastes of what is funny.  Dane Cook is popular.

No see, it's clever.  They take terrible jokes, and then insert the name of a famous scientist/scientific jargon somewhere and suddenly it's "smart comedy".

Like I said I'm not a regular viewer and not a huge fan so I'll make for a lousy defender of it but while I agree they do jokes like you mention and the lazy ones I'm talking about they also make some jokes that I appreciate, in part because they're into some of the same pop culture I am.

Just as a quick example I saw one where they'd bought a box of movie props or something at a yard sale and they found a copy of the script to Ghostbusters inside and they got all excited until one of them pointed out it was actually to Ghostbusters 2, at which point they threw it in the trash.

Is it cutting edge, Louis CK kind of stuff? No. But credit where credit's due, that's a decent crack.

For fans of Sons of Anarchy, there's a gonna be lots of action in the last 2 eps to Season 4!!

So many people want to kill Clay, it's like the "who shot Burns" (for the younger crowd) or "who shot JR" (for us older ones...)

Opie's gonna kill somebody.  I'm hoping that Gemma will kill Clay herself.

The interesting thing with Community is that NBC hasn't told them to cease production. They'll still be making a full season's worth of episodes, which, for a show that's intended to be cancelled, is unusual. They may just be transitioning it into a summer series.

The articles I read said the show was "benched", one of them quoted a tweet from Allison Brie (Annie) that's said "Troy and Abed in the... Summer?" or something like that.

For anyone else who was confused by the apparent racism in Sons of Anarchy, this article was really good;

Netflix has made another big programming move, striking a deal to bring back from the dead the critically acclaimed Fox series "Arrested Development."

The quirky ensemble show, which lasted only three seasons but won an Emmy Award for best comedy, followed the antics of the morally challenged Bluth family. The series, whose stars included Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera and Portia de Rossi, was cancelled five years ago, it continued to find new fans via DVDs and reruns.

The show is expected to return with new episodes in the first half of 2013. The entire cast is expected to return, a person close to the project said. There has also been talk of making an "Arrested Development" movie as well, but so far no definite plan for that has emerged. There is no word yet as to how many episodes Netflix will order.

Wow, i've only watched it once and thought it was stupid. Guess I was right.

Community has had a week season, in comparison to last year. Still, better than 99% of what's out there. The fact that it's being replaced by a tiresome, well past it's prime 30 rock tells you something about ratings.

The best comedy, bar none, on tv right now is Bored to Death.

Very glad they added an extra episode this year. 3 to go.

Grrr, your obnoxious declaration of your own viewpoint to be the correct one totally makes me want to argue with you.

Gives us a shout when you have a new schtick.

I was told they were denied that option so they added to last week's show and were going to add time to the last 2 (the season ender is usually extended anyway.)

Just so I get the rules.... If I say a show is funny, that's okay. If I say it's stupid, I'm trying to declare my viewpoint as the correct one?
