From what I have seen so far, Kontiola shouldn't be anywhere near the NHL roster come opening night.

Yeah, I crossed him off my list.

Who would be in the press box instead? Bodie? Bodie seemed to have some hustle last year as well as size.

Yep, I think Bodie is making a case to replace both Orr and McLaren for toughness, and can skate and check more effectively on the fourth line than either of those two.

So, Orr fought 6 times last season: twice on opening night, 3 times in November, and once in January. Yet he got in 54 games. Which really begs the question: what on earth is he providing?
I don't care if he is in the last round of cuts, he just better be in the cuts somewhere. Guy will be 32 soon, ain't getting any better. Not to mention, as the article states, his concussion issues make him fighting anymore a scary proposition.
I'd love to see the Leafs have 4 lines where I don't cringe every time 1 or 2 of the players gets on the ice.

Kevin Marshall and Trevor Smith have also been placed on waivers today.

Interesting that Jacob Markstrom is on waivers in Vancouver.

Yeah. Of all the players on waivers today, he's probably the most likely to be claimed. My guess is he clears, though. The timing is in Vancouver's favour here, as most teams have 3 or 4 goalies in camp right now, and very few are unsettled at the position. His NHL numbers are also pretty uninspiring.
