Edmonton is not beating Vancouver and it will be a tall order for the Leafs to go into Montreal and beat the Habs.  Good chance the Isles beat the Jackets too.  I am hoping for a 4th or 5th finish still with any luck.

The frigging Connolly stick will go down in Leafs sad history - just like Boyd Devereaux and Martin Gerber and and and and and and and......

I say an investigation is in order.

For once all the other games went the Leafs way.  Would have been in 4th with a Leaf loss.  Argh!

So, instead they're in 5th with a possibility to finish 4th, which, regardless of the result last night, is the best case scenario since Montreal lost.

Still not too bad.  Let's face it, this is one draft where you just don't know what you're going to get regardless of whether you finish 4th or 8th.  I just hope the Leafs actually get it right and make a great guess (pick).

*fingers crossed*

Why are people worried?  I'm sure Betman has a the lottery rigged against the Leafs somehow.  Ball is bigger, lighter, etc.

HUGE game for the Leafs.... they really need to lose.  They have a chance at #4 which gives them a great pick.  A win and it looks like #8!  WOW

7th. Carolina holds the tie-breaker, so the Leafs can't pass them.

I hope the tie breaker does not depend upon goals for/goals against?  The differential between teams is only 3...

No, in this case, it's head to head record, and Carolina has that locked up.

No, worse case is 7. I'm just not sure if the Anaheim case to 4 out of the equation.

If the Leafs lose in regulation, they will still be tied with Anaheim in ROW and points.  Assuming Anaheim is still ahead in goal differential, the Leafs would be behind them in the standings.  Since the Isles could also still win to pass the Leafs, the Leafs lowest finish is still 4th.

Ah, Okay... Sorry about the bad grammar there - Not really paying much attention.  :-[

I thought the Leafs could possibly tie or pass Carolina and Minnesota and win the tie breaker on win totals, but I don't know how the shootout or inter-conference tie breakers factor in.

Oh well, whatever. It will be sorted out soon enough.

I think that's #5 locked up know... Unless I'm mistaken. So what's the deal with the lottery? How many can we move up/down?

They can move up a max of 4 (i.e., they could get the 1st ... 8.2% chance) and can only drop 1.

So the only way we drop obviously is a team with a lesser chance of winning it wins, correct?
