Tonight is a big night. Every team that affects Tank Nation is in play. After tonight they will all have just one more game.

- Leafs need to lose last home game to TB
- Isles need to beat the Jets in Long Island
- Ducks need to beat the Oilers in Edmonton
- Wild need to beat the Blackhawks in Minny
- Canes are home and need to beat the Habs

No other way around on the last one.  If the Habs beat the Canes, they could overtake the Leafs.  If the Leafs lose, then they can't gain any ground on the Canes.

Hopefully Stamkos hits 60 tonight and the Leafs move a step closer to the 3rd pick overall (and better odds of winning the lottery).

I think WIGWAL said Faska could go 8/9/10.  He could go a little higher, who knows... but either way, I think guys like him show that there are going to be some nice players available in the 5-10 range too.

Last I heard Radek Faksa was out about a week ago with a head injury (not sure what?).  I googled him quickly and couldn't find any recent updates.

Any idea?

Out indefinitely with a concussion.

mirtle: The best the Leafs can now finish is seventh last. They cannot catch Carolina or Tampa. The worst they can do is fourth last.

Winning the extra point in the shootout clinched the tie-breaker for the Canes.

If Anaheim can beat Edmonton tonight, no matter what else happens, if the Leafs lose in regulation on Saturday, they'll go into the lottery with a top 5 pick.

I think Anaheim has to beat Edmonton in regulation or OT to pass the Leafs tonight as they're currently behind one ROW but are ahead in the goal differential. They are currently up 2-1 after two periods ....

Right. I guess I tried to imply that when I probably should have stated it explicitly.

- Isles need to beat the Jets in Long Island Check!
- Ducks need to beat the Oilers in Edmonton Check!
- Wild need to beat the Blackhawks in Minny Check!
- Canes are home and need to beat the Habs Check!

For once all the other games went the Leafs way.  Would have been in 4th with a Leaf loss.  Argh!

Can't wait to look back on these last wins of the season when the draft is happening and we're drafting 6th or 7th.

You can't put a price on late Leaf wins that mean nothing. They're so special.

Why aren't all these other teams tanking too?

Don't they know that it's all that matters now and all the cool kids are doing it?

Exactly!  The 9 worst teams all gained points tonight...they should ALL be tanking shouldn't they?  I guess they didn't get the memo! lol

Drafting might not be as big a deal to a team like Tampa who has a young player who's on the verge of a 60 goal season. They can actually build around that.

As long as we keep winning and can beat Montreal on Saturday...............why, we'll be in some fine position to get somone who can score 10 to 20 goals a year. *fingers crossed.*

Don't let me down Leafs.

So with the Anaheim win last night, are we still in the 4-7 range or is it 4-6 now?

Edit: Still 7 I think...

They can still pass Minnesota and Anaheim, so 7th is still a possibility.

The frigging Connolly stick will go down in Leafs sad history - just like Boyd Devereaux and Martin Gerber and and and and and and and......
