Phaneuf?? REALLY??? 2nd dumb penalty...

It seems you think all penalties are dumb penalties.

No. Unfortunately, the way we've been playing defensively, we certainly put ourselves in a position where we have to take a penalty or we force our rookie goalie in his first game up on the Big Leagues to keep making spectacular saves. Its not as if we've been trying to make his life easier.

The first Phanuef penalty was a give away by Gunnarsson. Phaneuf took the penalty to avoid a clear break and a likely goal.

Yes and I was wrong to suggest it was specifically Phaneuf's 'fault' for the 1st penalty. How about 1 penalty that was likely necessary and 1 that was not so much?

Scrivens is looking awesome, he has made 2 or 3 saves already that Gus would have let in.

The best arguments are one's which cannot be proven or disproven.

I just like good debate, need subjectivity for that.

I think you missed the point of a certain Monty Python sketch.

Doesn't seem to ring a bell.  Which eludes to a bigger problem, I have missed a certain Monty Python sketch.

And MacArthur scores.

That's how I feel so, yeah!

I know it's early but I really think that we will make the playoffs. I doubt that we will finish where we are now though, but we should make the playoffs.

Why do I feel more comfortable watching Scrivens in net after only one period of NHL play than I ever have watching Gus?

BTW I love the rookies initials too. Nice start to the bigs!!!

Mason continues to struggle. He made a huge save earlier in the game, but, overall, he has not looked all that good.

I feel the same way although it's only been one period. I think it's because it feels as if Scrivens is very calm, and keeps his position, and doesn't seem stressed about anything. He doesn't look nervous at all, it's like another day at work although this should be very special for him.

He seems to move quite a bit less, looks much more efficient and less scrambly than Gus.

Wow, 2-0 after 1! Just got home - saw Columbus has outshot the Leafs 11-4. Was the play as one sided as the shot total?

The point kind of dulled because of his late assist but I think that period kind of emphasized how misleading it would be to look at Kulemin entirely through the prism of his point totals. Outside of maybe Crabb I thought Kulemin was the best Leafs forward that period.
